ParishesOnline Website Users – Changes Coming

Be sure to review this Press Release regarding the sale of ParishesOnline to LPi:

Parishes that utilize the ParishesOnline website as their Primary parish website need to begin work on transitioning to either the LPi solution or another website tool.  LPi will also provide a no-fee website at

All parishes will have the no-fee single web page with so be sure to “Claim” your page on that website to make sure all details are accurate and timely (even if this will not be your primary parish website).  LPi will be sending additional communications to the current ParishesOnline users with more detail soon.  There are many different options for parish websites so you can either attend one of the next regional parish secretary meetings or contact Roni Argetsinger at or 515-237-5007 for more information.


Audited Financial Statements Available to View

The audited financial statements for the Diocese of Des Moines Administrative Offices and the Catholic Pastoral Center Foundation have been approved and are available to view online at

Important Change Required For DESKTOP ParishSOFT Family Suite Users

ParishSOFT Family Suite Users:

ParishSOFT will be enforcing a security change on December 15, 2014.

The URL used to connect your ParishSOFT system will be updated (if it has not already) to be a secure communication protocol (https:).

You should have received an emailed announcement of this directly from ParishSOFT on December 5th.

This is a reminder that those of you that are still utilizing the older desktop version of the Family Suite software will need to make this update to your server connection parameters in the software tool.

Those of you that have already made the transition to the web based ConnectNow can disregard the rest of this message!  Your system has already been using the secure protocol of https:.

What do you need to do?  (Again, only those parishes utilizing the desktop software for ParishSOFT Family Suite (Family Directory, Offering, Religious Education, Time and Talent).

  1. You need to verify your synchronization connection parameters.
  2. Log into Family Directory as a parish administrator level user.
  3. Select Utilities > ParishSOFT System Info from the main menu.
  4. Select WebCONNECT Setup and select the Diocesan Synchronize tab.
  5. Check the AIM Base URL entry to ensure it shows as https://aimsync.   If not, then add the “s”.  Check Connection to Diocese and click OK on the confirmation box.
  6. Close the WebCONNECT Management window, and close the ParishSOFT System Information window.
  7. Changing this for one user will change it for all users.

Please be sure to complete these steps prior to December 15, 2014.  Otherwise, your WebCONNECT setup will warn you that you are not connected, and you will not be synchronizing with the Diocesan-wide database.

Iowa Department of Revenue Offers Free Webinar on Sales Tax for Non-Profits
